Chateau Elan has approximately 250 guest rooms. The original French provincial design was dated and in need of renovation. Our clients wanted a fresh, stylish, more casual approach to “French” design.

The color scheme we choose revolves around French blue. The muted shades evocative of the sun drenched Mediterrean are used throughout in soft golds, creams, blues and browns. One French inspired notion was to choose one color and use it in different hues throughout the room. Another subtle French touch is the use of eglomise mirror, or antique mirror, as a full wall leaning mirror. Eglomise is something you might see in Versailles, for instance, but in this case we used it in a more contemporary way. The rooms were big enough to accommodate a free standing focal bed with residential style headboard and footboard. The bedding package is exquisite with embroidered white linens on top of a cushy pillow top mattress. The dark rich walnut woods play well off of the silver patina of the nightstand and desk.
