Hawks Cay is a $35 million renovation that brings luxury to the Florida Keys. The revamp of the property includes the redesign of the 177 guestrooms and all of the public areas.
The guestrooms capture the style of the West Indies with rich mahogany four poster beds covered in airy white linens, while celebrating the heritage of the Keys with nautical shell shadow box artwork and natural light stone flooring.
Lobby spaces are opened up for a more inviting arrival from the new "front porch," reminiscent of the traditional Keys. However, once in the Lobby, the new water feature and stone floors along with the front desk "pods" and furnishings, a visitor might think "South Beach meets Key West."
The outdoor living spaces, including a new pool and firepit, are a wonderful addition to the property. Alma Restaurant and the new Lounge are directly off of the back veranda. Alma, a Nuevo Latino signature restaurant, and the Lounge are punctuated by dramatic lighting and Caribbean colors.
Approximately 250 Villas dot the landscape around the hotel and are included in the renovation. Two distinct villa designs were developed for the owners to choose from. One a more casual "Coastal Living" decor featuring distressed white woods and a rain washed color scheme and the other a more traditional and exotic "Caribbean" theme. The West Indies/Caribbean scheme embraces the deeper, richer colors of the British Colonial period.
