The Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa rises gracefully amid extraordinary views of the Tennessee River in Florence, Alabama. The property features 200 guestrooms, two restaurants, a lounge, a luxurious spa and more than 35,000 square feet of conference space.
Our goal was to create a warm, comfortable and inviting environment that would attract both local and destination clientele by combining casual elegance and sophistication. Much of the success of the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa is attributed to a rich transitional interior that features a creative mix of materials indigenous to the region. The area’s lush vegetation and waterways inspired a design theme featuring leaves, acorns, pine needles and fish fossils.
The dramatic six-story hexagonal atrium gives a unique first impression. It echoes the organic surroundings with granite, marble and a water feature that includes a replica of the adjacent Wilson Dam and a fresh water aquarium showcasing local species of fish.
An outstanding feature of the guestroom décor is molded bronze colored relief panels depicting outdoor scenes that portray the world-renowned bass fishing tradition of the area.
